UN004 - The Paper Cranes - Halcyon Days

Purchase:  [

There’s no question that Halcyon Days would’ve been a spectacular disaster if The Paper Cranes hadn’t been able to follow “I’ll Love You Until My Veins Explode” with at least a few more songs of that calibre. Few, however, would’ve anticipated that the band had it in them to surpass that standard to such an amazing degree. The Paper Cranes have loads of talent, and it’s all on display here.

Label Update - February 2, 2008

The Paper Cranes‘ debut LP has a street date of February 25th. They will be playing in Toronto, along with The Airfields as part of an Unfamiliar Records/Musebox showcase in March.

Vote for The ‘Cranes on CBC Canada! They are listed as one of 10 bands to watch in 2008. Click this link, select their image (#9), and then click on “Vote For Favourite”. They really deserve it.

The Airfields’ debut LP was released to much critical praise over the last two weeks. We have an EP from the band on the way, with a focus on their more feedback-oriented material. Plenty of My Bloody Valentine comparisons abound — and these guys and girl do it so well they completely avoid the copy-cat trap. We’re very excited about this one. Expect an artist and release page for them on the site soon.

The Weather’s Stolen Billions was released as an online-only free download last month. We’ve had a great response to this so far, with plenty of bandwidth being sucked up as a result. Hop over to their Musebox page to see their found-footage video for “In Denial”.

Huckleberry Friends have decided against re-releasing their old material in favor of doing something new. Once we figure out what that is, we’ll let you know.

Everyone please send positive thoughts over to The Two Koreas‘ guitarist, Kieran Grant, who has been in the hospital over the last few weeks. We miss you Kieran! Get well soon.
